"So Bill, I couldn’t help but notice that you’ve spoken in Orlando the last three consecutive weekends for the Masters Circle, Breakthrough Coaching and Ward Success Systems. So, which group was the best?
”
I couldn’t tell if he was fishing for some affirmation that he had chosen the “best” coaching program or looking for distinctions that made each audience different or asking me to rate the merits of the three organizations.
Actually, I get asked this question frequently. Having never hired a practice coach I have no basis for judging what makes an effective one. So, I’ll often ask, “What are you looking for in a coach?”
It’s breathtaking how this simple question produces an uncomfortable pause in the conversation. Few chiropractors can clearly articulate why they want a coach or express what they hope to achieve by doing so.
When I finally coax an answer from them, I generally learn that they either need help with the internal procedures of running their practice, or more common, or want to buy some discipline by being accountable to someone.
That’s the long answer.
The short answer? Each audience was very different. And fantastic. And I consider these last three weeks among the most memorable and fulfilling three weeks of my 25 year career. If you were part of it, thank you!
