Many chiropractors have treated third party reimbursement like winning the lottery. And like the lottery, countless people who suddenly came into millions, lost it all.
Tales of the average Joe Sixpack losing his or her winnings after two or three years are common, it’s practically a cliché. Similarly, chiropractors who got the taste of generous reimbursement adjusted their lifestyles upwards, thinking it would last forever as the new “normal.”
But it wasn’t normal. And it’s not lasting.
“If I win the lottery I’ll be generous and give it all away,” we kid ourselves. “I’ll do great things with the money,” we proclaim, hoping our good intentions might serve to enhance our chances of winning. “I’d keep working. Things wouldn’t change all that much,” we lie to ourselves.
It’s the perfect excuse to avoid being generous now. It’s part of the “I’ll-be-happy-when-(fill in the blank)” mentality that is at odds with the laws of prosperity and abundance.
When you think about the million-to-one odds that existed for your particular egg and sperm to come together to make you, you won the lottery by the simple act of being conceived and born. Since, you’ve already won the lottery, what are you waiting for? Be generous now. Try out-giving the universe.
