I've
learned new techniques, NMT and use NET and AK. They can take
more time. Do I get behind and schedule the same, schedule
more time and make less income. Keep the same time but charge
more. From a patient's view, what sets best with people. Oh,
and they're use to getting it all in THE VISIT.
My Response:
Great question
with no easy answer.
I believe NET recommends
that you uncover the most pressing NEC and clear that out
on a typical visit, adding maybe three or four minutes to
whatever you're currently doing.
Another strategy,
the one the two chiropractors I currently see are doing, is
to sell chunks of time, in half- and one-hour increments.
(This is probably more appropriate for patients seeking wellness
care and not symptomatic treatment.)
Both approaches
have pros and cons. Especially when you add the fee factor
into the equation. I find that when I pay a relatively high
hourly fee ($100) I'm anxious to cover as much territory as
possible. Other individuals for whom time is a greater concern,
just as soon get in and get out as quickly as possible. They
tend to be more outcome/event oriented than I who is more
interested in the healing process.
Ultimately, you'll
want to decide what type of patient you want, what techniques
are best suited for those patients needs and whether you want
to sell your time or your talent.
Good luck. Hope
this helps.
