Patient Media

Dear Bill...

I am starting a new practice and planning a survey by going door to door to attract new patients. Could you give me some suggestions for a door to door patient survey?

My Response:

If I were in practice, I think I'd do a neighborhood survey as a way of taking the pulse of the community and to introduce myself to strangers.

I think you get a very limited amount of time, thus you can ask just a couple of questions. If I had my eye on some space in the, say, Westfall Shopping Plaza , I might say:

"Hi my name is Bill Esteb. I'm a chiropractor. I'm considering opening up my new practice over at the Westfall Shopping Plaza .

"Since I'm new to the area, may I ask you two quick questions about the wisdom of starting my practice at that location?"

If they indicate they're willing to continue, here's what I'd ask:

"Have you ever received chiropractic care?"

"Considering traffic flow, parking and your familiarity with the area, would that be a good location for a chiropractic office?

"Thank you so much. If I decide to open my office there, may I send an announcement to you?"

Regardless of whether they answer yes or know I'd present them some information about myself. This would include a short biography and a copy of our Answers to the Questions Patients Ask About Chiropractic brochure.
