I recently bought the Dr. You Lecture Kit and am impressed with it's content and structure. I would love to start using this lecture and would appreciate some advice on how to arrange these lectures so that we attract quality prospects interested in learning about chiropractic.
My Response:
Besides the obvious opportunity of inviting new patients to attend your presentation that you give say, once a month, I know of two other approaches.
One way is to ask your patients if they are members of some group or civic organizations that regularly have guest speakers. You could send your patients a letter. Maybe something like this from our 50 Patient Letter book:
Dear Patient,
The one thing I love besides delivering chiropractic is talking about chiropractic. So I could use your help.
Do you belong to a group or civic organization that would enjoy a brief talk about (natural health care, alternative health care, the wellness revolution, etc.)? With the growing interest in natural health care alternatives in the media, I have a keen interest in shedding light on this most important topic.
Perhaps you know someone I should contact to arrange an opportunity to speak at an upcoming meeting. If so, would you please let me or one of my staff members know about it?
Thanks for helping us spread the word about safe, natural chiropractic care.
Sincerely,
Another more direct approach is to obtain a list of the various civic groups and organizations in your area (the chamber of commerce or public library often have such lists) and obtain the name and address of the individual who is responsible for booking guest speakers. Send them a letter. Maybe something along the lines of:
Dear (guest speaker booking person),
As you probably know, there's a growing interest in our society about natural forms of health. Herbs, acupuncture, vitamin therapy, yoga and a host of other disciplines are gaining followers. What used to be considered "fringe" is now mainstream.
This change has produced the unwanted side effect of actually confusing many people about natural health alternatives. I think that's why my presentation, The Astonishing Dr. You has become so popular.
While I'm a chiropractor, the focus of this talk is about the integrity of the nervous system. My primary interest is in explaining the mastery of the nervous system in an informative and entertaining way. Is this the kind of talk your membership would benefit from?
I'd like the opportunity to explain my presentation in more detail. I've enclosed a little booklet that serves as an outline and preview of my talk.
Please let me know how I could best tailor my presentation to the needs and interests of your group.
Warmest regards,
Include a copy of the Dr. You booklet and then follow up in a week or two with a phone call. It's a numbers game. Anyway, that's what I'd do.
