Frequently Asked Questions About Video

Copyright. Like all our intellectual properties, the Patient Media, Inc. videos materials are protected by international copyright conventions. Over 25 years of experience and an investment of thousands of dollars were made to create and produce this program. Simply put, unauthorized duplication or other copyright infringement is vigorously pursued.

Making Copies. Copy protection technology has been added to these videos preventing their unauthorized duplication. Copying, transferring or selling duplicate copies is a violation of our copyright.

Broadcasting the Videos. Sorry, broadcast in whole or in part, in any medium, including cable television or the Internet is not permitted. Our talent releases were purchased for in-office use only.

Spanish Videos. Foreign language patient education vidoes are on the drawing board, but a release date has not been set.

Modifying Your Videos. Remastering the videos by adding or subtracting material is permitted with written consent from Patient Media, Inc. as long as the modifications are for your own use and the resulting material is not sold, transferred or conveyed to others.

Replacing Worn Tapes. While we use the best videotape stock available, repeated playings of the video tapes (usually around 200-300 playings) will wear them out, degrading the quality of the picture. We'll replace worn tapes with a new one for a fee of USD $25.00 per tape (plus shipping). You will be asked to surrender the worn tape. Consider upgrading to DVD for a better picture that will never degrade.

Upgrading to DVD. You have our videos and want to upgrade to DVD? No problem. We treat upgrade like a worn out tape. Surrender all your videos along with the USD $25 fee (plus shipping) and we'll send you the DVD. If you don't want to practice without your videos, we'll accept a USD $100 deposit (plus USD $25 upgrade fee and shipping) and send you the DVD. Then, when you return your videos, we'll refund the deposit. Easy.

Stolen or Lost Videos. Dust, dirt and stray magnetic fields can reduce the longevity of your tapes, so we recommend that the videos are rewound and removed from your VCR between showings and stored in the plastic slip covers provided. Not only will this increase their lifespan, but if your office is the target of burglary, you are less likely to lose the video left in your VCR. We recommend that you have your videos listed on your insurance policy.
