Classic Chiropractic Quotes, Slogans and
Chiropractic Sayings That I Call "Chiroisms"

Bill EstebOver the years I’ve noticed that there is a collection of chiropractic quotes, sayings, slogans, epigrams and pithy one-liners. I call them “chiroisms.”

Embedded within each of these chiropractic quotes, sayings and slogans is often a kernel of truth. (Although, some are patently false!) Chiropractors and chiropractic consulting groups repeat them so frequently that they often take on a ring of unquestioned, self-evident truth and a life all their own.

During the summer Monday Morning Motivation emails of 2010, I’m holding up a magnifying glass to some of the more popular chiropractic quotes and unpacking their meaning and implications. Some of my conclusions may surprise you.

Fasten your seatbelts, it may be a bumpy ride!

"Above down, inside out."

"We address the cause, not the symptom."

"Symptoms are the last thing to show up and the first thing to disappear."

"Three times a week for the first four weeks, then twice a week for the next four weeks, then once a week for the next four weeks, etc."

"The power that made the body, heals the body"

"If patients knew what you knew, they would do what you do."

"Patients don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

"If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always gotten."

"Are you leaving someone at home to develop the same problem you have?"

"Chiropractic adds years to life and life to years."

"Chiropractic works when traditional methods fail."

"If you miss an appointment you'll need to make it up."

"Get the big idea and all else follows."
