Monday Morning Motivation | Science vs. Philosophy
A popular schism within chiropractic creates confrontation between science and philosophy, prompting many chiropractors to choose one over the other. As if one worldview were superior to the other. This is the classic "either/or" argument.
As in, the folks who want evidence, facts, proof, details, specifics and have a set of linear expectations, versus those who rely on love, trust, hope, connection, patience and have a different intention in mind when they adjust a patient.
One side sees the world as entirely the physicality of what can be detected with the five senses. The other recognizes the unseen and just as real, spiritual dimension of healing. Which viewpoint is correct?
They both are. Use science to detect the area of the spine most available for energy. Use art to deliver the most compassionate, skillful and reverent adjustment possible. Use philosophy to remind you to trust the doctor within each patient.
