Monday Morning Motivation | Managing Expectations
Part of setting clear patient boundaries is establishing and managing their expectations before and during your care. Why? Because most patients have medical expectations.
Many think you'll be treating their symptoms. After all, it's their symptoms that have prompted them to seek you out and interrupt their lives by coming to your practice for repeated visits. But using adjustments to treat pain is like taking a knife to a gunfight.
Drugs are faster, cheaper and far more convenient. Start there.
"Have you tried a drug solution?" you ask.
"Yes, and I hated the side effects."
"Just so you know, we do something different here. We won't be treating your pain. Instead, we'll locate and reduce nervous system interference along your spine. Then, as your body begins to function as it was designed, it should no longer need to shout to get your attention. Does that sound like something you'd want?"
