Monday Morning Motivation | Eating Frogs
Mark Twain referred to it as "eating the frog." The idea being that if the first thing you do each day is eat a frog, you can relax knowing that the worst part of the day is behind you.
Do you tend to put off the things that are difficult and do them last? Or tackle the more distasteful tasks first? This simple distinction often separates those who are great starters but poor finishers, from those who have a reputation for making a ruckus and getting things done.
What procrastinators and foot draggers overlook is that by waiting to do the difficult thing, they actually contribute to making it more difficult! They have more time to rehearse, ruminate and worry, amplifying the task, usually making it larger and more formidable than it actually is.
This week practice the success habit of doing the difficult first and the unsavory even sooner.
