| I'm getting
ready to open my office and trying to come up with a name. Should I name it after
myself, my town or some other type of name? Which is best? My
response:
Those are the three basic choices and the name you
choose will probably mean more to you than anyone else! Here are couple
of points to keep in mind:
1. Patients refer to your practice by the doctor's
name, not clinic name. So the good news is, the name of your practice seems like a big deal, but it really isn't.
2. If you're thinking of selling your practice (or
getting married and changing your name) in the near future (5 years or less) then
you might not want to use your name in your practice name. 3. Naming your
office after the town you're in, like Palmer Lake Chiropractic, can communicate
a leadership position in your community.
4. Avoid a cutsey name or play
on words that lay people won't get or tha you may come to regret later. Do use a name that reflects your philosophy,
practice tone and approach to chiropractic care. This is especially crucial in
your decison to call yourself an office, a center (centre) or a clinic.
